British-Iranian soprano Soraya Mafi is fast becoming one of the most sought-after lyric coloratura sopranos of her generation. Renowned for her dazzling technique, radiant stage presence, and expressive musicality, she has garnered critical acclaim across major international opera houses and festivals.

In the 2025/26 season, Soraya takes on three thrilling new roles: Cunegonde in Candide (Welsh National Opera) Nitocris in Handel’s Belshazzar (Komische Oper, Berlin) in a new production and Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier (Garsington Opera).‍ ‍

2026/27 sees Soraya make a number of natable house débuts in American and Europe. She makes her role and house debut as Adina in ‘L’Elisir D’Amore (The Dallas Opera) and house débuts as Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier at both Semperoper Dresden and Houston Grand Opera.

Future seasons include her role début as Lucia in Lucia di L’ammermoor, her house debut with Royal Ballet and Opera, Covent Garden and performances at The Wigmore Hall, The Glasshouse International Centre for Music and The London International Handel Festival
